Avril Lavigne is not nor was she ever punk. She’s a pop singer. Her songs sound like Mandy Moore’s, and she’s written songs for singers like Kelly Clarkson. When Avril came out, she seemed to think dressing ‘punk’ made her a punk, although she had no knowledge of the genre (I haven’t liked her since she admitted she didn’t know who Sid Vicious was; now, she tries to claim he’s an influence). The only thing I’ve really heard her do is trash other performers. I don’t like the people she’s trashing either; however, they’re in the same business. It’s rude, tacky, and tasteless to go into work and act like a gossipy trash talker. Now, she has pink hair and is trying this ‘rock couture’ look…which Pink has been doing for quite some time. There isn’t anything original about this girl, and her nasally sound is really quite grating.

Quite frankly, she should be less concerned about her appearance and more concerned about the fact that she’s a trashy poseur.

I liked her old style better. She does not look good as a blond.
